OppXpo Documentation
OppXpo is an AI-powered opportunity engine that analyzes domains, URLs, and platforms to generate actionable monetization ideas for solopreneurs, creators, and side-hustlers.
What OppXpo Does
- Understands the niche and audience behind any domain or topic
- Identifies monetizable angles specific to your input
- Generates concrete, realistic business opportunities
- Generates tailored opportunities based on your inputs and selected modifier
- Auto-saves every generation to the server
Getting Started
1. Configure Your API Key (BYOK)
OppXpo is Bring Your Own Key — you supply your own LLM API key and model. Click the BYOK API button on the right side of the navbar on the Explore page to open the setup modal. Enter your provider (OpenRouter, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Grok, or a custom OpenAI-compatible endpoint), your API key, and your preferred model.
Your key and model are stored locally in your browser and never sent to our servers. You can change providers or models at any time by clicking the BYOK button again.
2. Enter Domains
Type one or more domains, URLs, or topics into the input field. Separate multiple entries with commas or new lines.
amazon.com, fitness, ai tools, real estate
You can enter up to 10 domains, topics, or niches per generation. Separate them with commas or new lines; anything beyond the first 10 is ignored.
3. Select Opportunity Focus
Choose an opportunity focus modifier to focus the analysis on a specific angle — Digital Products, Service Business, AI-Powered, Micro-SaaS, and 7 more. The default is Domain-Based, which tailors opportunities to your specific URL or topic.
Selecting a modifier updates the input hint and shows a detailed description of what that type targets.
4. Generate
Click "Generate" and wait for the AI analysis to complete. Results appear below with scores, summaries, and grouped opportunity cards.
5. Auto-Saved
All generated opportunities are automatically saved to the server. They appear on the Discover page where you can search, filter, sort, and favorite them.
Opportunity Focus
Before generating, you can select an opportunity focus modifier to focus the analysis on a specific business model. The default is Domain-Based, which generates general gaps from your URL. Selecting a modifier updates the input hint and shows a detailed description of what that type targets.
| Type | What It Targets | Best Input Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Domain-Based | Gaps revealed directly from your URL — opportunities tied to the specific domain's niche and audience | Domains or URLs you own or are curious about |
| Digital Product | Lead-magnet eBook publishing — the foundation of any digital product line — plus templates, courses, tools, and paid resources | Ebook platforms (Amazon KDP, Gumroad), course marketplaces, template sites, how-to niches, professional skill areas |
| Service Business | Market inefficiencies solvable by offering specialized services, consulting, or done-for-you work | Real estate, legal, recruiting, bookkeeping, B2B niches where businesses outsource |
| Content Business | Underserved topics and content gaps — blogs, newsletters, YouTube channels, podcasts, and media properties | Personal finance, parenting, travel destinations, niche hobbies with engaged audiences |
| AI-Powered | Inefficiencies where AI can create leverage — automation, generation, analysis, and intelligent tooling | Customer support, data entry, content creation, compliance, document-heavy fields |
| Affiliate Marketing | High-intent search and comparison gaps — review sites, comparison engines, and curated recommendations | SaaS tools, credit cards, mattresses, fitness gear, subscription boxes |
| Micro-SaaS | Niche workflow or problem gaps solvable with a focused, simple software tool | Dentists, photographers, property managers, freelancers, small agencies |
| Local Business | Underserved local needs — service gaps, geographic niches, and community-specific opportunities | City name + service ("Austin cleaning"), neighborhoods, local service ideas |
| Ecommerce | Product and trend gaps — physical products, print-on-demand, and branded merchandise | Etsy categories, Amazon bestsellers, TikTok trends, seasonal product ideas |
| Automation & Workflows | Repetitive process gaps that can be automated — integrations, Zapier-style workflows, and efficiency tools | Marketing ops, HR onboarding, ecommerce logistics, multi-step business processes |
| Niche Community | Groups lacking a central hub — membership sites, paid communities, forums, and networking platforms | Indie hackers, van life, remote workers, crossfit, professional specialties without a home |
The Digital Product lens always leads with lead-magnet eBooks. An eBook is the most direct way to productize expertise in a niche — infinite margins, zero technical maintenance, and a tangible PDF or EPUB deliverable. Once an eBook is established, every other sub-category (templates, prompt packs, design assets) builds on the same audience trust that the eBook establishes first, making it the natural starting point for any digital product line.
Output Format — Discovery Preview
Every exploration produces exactly one consulting-style report we call a Discovery Preview. It's a single Asset, not a list — so the AI can spend its token budget on depth rather than covering five shallow opportunities.
Header
- Title — Professional opportunity name
- Subtitle — Single-sentence positioning statement
- Summary — One-paragraph briefing
Metadata
- Opportunity Score — Integer 0–100 (the AI only emits a number; the band + rating label + color are computed deterministically by OppXpo)
- Opportunity Rating — One of six labels: Exceptional (95+), Excellent (85–94), Strong (70–84), Moderate (55–69), Weak (40–54), or Low Potential (below 40)
- Estimated Difficulty — Easy / Medium / Hard
- Estimated Time to MVP — Structured range (e.g. 2–4 Weeks, 1–2 Months)
Narrative Sections
The body of the report is divided into four consulting-style sections, each 2–4 paragraphs of prose:
- Executive Summary — what the opportunity is, why now, why customers would pay
- Customer Snapshot — primary audience, biggest pain point, purchase motivation
- Revenue Snapshot — primary monetization, recurring potential, pricing examples
- Market Gap — what gap exists, why competitors miss it, why it's commercially attractive
Asset Lineage
Every Discovery Preview is persisted as a permanent Business Asset with a unique asset id (UUID v4) in the Cloudflare D1 database. Future workflow stages (a paid Opportunity Brief, an Execution Blueprint) will expand the same Asset into longer reports — never overwritten, always versioned.
Each Asset carries forward the modifier you selected on the Explore page, so Discover page filters still match correctly.
Auto-Save & Favorites
Auto-Save as Business Assets
Every Discovery Preview is automatically saved to the server (Cloudflare D1) as a Business Asset record as soon as it's generated. There's no manual save step — every Discovery Preview persists across sessions and appears on the Discover page.
Pre-Phase-1 generations are still visible on the Discover page too, with a small "Legacy Format" badge so you can tell them apart from new Discovery Preview rows.
Favorites (○ / ●)
Use the circle button (empty circle ○) in the top-right of any card to favorite it. When favorited, the circle fills solid green (●). Favorites are stored in your browser's localStorage and persist across sessions.
- On the Discover page, favorited cards sort to the top automatically
- A Favorites filter pill lets you view only your favorited cards
- Favorites work for both legacy rows and new Discovery Preview assets; ids are stored as strings so the same key works for Integer auto-increment AND UUID v4 asset ids
Discover Page
The / page gives you full control over your saved Business Assets:
- Search by keyword across titles, summaries, and market gaps
- Filter by modifier pill, category dropdown, or difficulty (Easy / Medium / Hard)
- Sort — favorited cards appear first, then by newest date
- Masonry layout — cards flow naturally without blank gaps
- Expand cards (▼) to see full details: audience, market gap, difficulty, revenue, generated date
- Source badge on each card tells you if it's a new Discovery Preview or a pre-Phase-1 legacy opportunity
FAQ
How many domains can I analyze at once?
Up to 10 per generation. Anything beyond the first 10 is ignored — split into batches if you want extras covered.
Each run analyses the full batch (up to 10) as one report. Cross-batch passes aren't supported.
What are opportunity focus modifiers?
OppXpo offers 11 opportunity focus modifiers (Domain-Based, Digital Product, Service Business, Content Business, AI-Powered, Affiliate Marketing, Micro-SaaS, Local Business, Ecommerce, Automation, Niche Community) that focus the analysis on a specific business model. Select one before generating to tailor the output.
How do favorites work?
Click the empty circle (○) on any opportunity card to favorite it — it fills solid green (●). Favorites are stored in your browser's localStorage. On the Discover page, favorited cards sort to the top, and a Favorites filter pill lets you view only them.
Where are my saved opportunities stored?
All generated opportunities are auto-saved to the server (Cloudflare D1 database). They persist across sessions and appear on the Discover page. Favorites are stored locally in your browser's localStorage.
How do I delete an opportunity?
Log into the Settings page, then ✕ delete buttons appear on every opportunity card. Click one, confirm the dialog, and the opportunity is permanently removed from the server.
What AI model does OppXpo use?
The default model is deepseek/deepseek-v4-pro, but you can configure any OpenRouter-compatible model in the Settings page. See Getting Started → Step 1 for BYOK setup instructions.
